Lakes – Island Murter
Jezera is a harbour on the north-eastern coast of Murter, connected to the mainland by the Adriatic Highway.
The name Jezera comes from the small lakes that form in the nearby valleys after the spring and autumn rains. With the first sunny days the ponds disappear. A very nice beach is located in Lovišća bay. The beach is landscaped and partially shaded. Swimming on the beach in Jezera bay and other more secluded places towards Tisno or the other side, to the southeast, is also nice. The bay in Jezera is one of the starting points for cruises on Kornati (boat and motorboat rentals possible). There are excellent conditions for sport fishing. The island of Murter is connected to the mainland by a modern lifting bridge. If you get tired of staying on the island, we recommend visiting the historical towns on the nearby mainland (Sibenik, Biograd na Moru). Another option is to take a trip to Krka National Park, Kornati National Park or admire the largest Croatian lake Vrana.
