Location:

The village of Makrigialos (meaning long shore) is a charming fishing village located on the southeastern coast of Lasithi Prefecture. Approximately 30 minutes‘ drive from Ierapetra and 1 hour from Agios Nikolaos.
There is a beautiful harbour where you will find many traditional Greek tavernas and seafood buffets. There is a beautiful sandy beach and several other coves nearby. This is a top location.
The village is well equipped with supermarkets, butchers, greengrocers, bakeries, pharmacies, bank, petrol station and more. There is also a regular bus service connecting Makrigialos with Ierapetra, Sitia and Heraklion Airport. Geographically, the town is well sheltered from strong winds, which allows for sea sports and swimming almost all year round. The microclimate is one of the best in Greece and moderate temperatures rarely exceed 30°C in summer and do not drop below 15°C in winter.
