History:

At the current site of Sveti Vlas was originally a fishing village, which was founded in the 2nd century by the Greek population and its original name was Larissa. The name Sveti Vlas was not used until the 14th century. The city was predominantly Greek until the 20th century, when most local Greeks emigrated back to Greece.

The resort is located only 5 km from the busy largest resort Sunny Beach and 35 km from Burgas Airport.
